St Vincent de Paul Society
Originating in Paris in 1833, the organisation has developed globally, following the tenets set down by a band of young Christian men, led by Frederick Ozanam. Under the patronage of St Vincent de Paul, they vowed to pray together and do charitable works for the sake of the poor and these basic principles are still maintained today.
In our own parish, the SVP Society comprises eight parishioners who are responsible for a multitude of unseen works of charity throughout the local community.
If you would like more information on the work of the society, details on how to become a member or have any goods that you would like to donate for distribution to the poor of the local community,
please contact John Felth
