Welcome to the Web Site of Carfin’s St Francis Xavier’s Roman Catholic Church, in the Diocese of Motherwell.

The Church of St Francis Xavier has a history dating back to 1863, and thought that passage of time has both welcomed and endured many changes. The most welcoming of these changes would be the building of the Carfin Grotto on land alongside the Church.

If we look to history, the Parish community began with the establishment of the Church, but with the building of the Grotto and the thousands upon thousands of people who have visited the Grotto, we as a Parish have had to incorporate all this into our daily lives.

Through our web site we hope to highlight an insight into how our Parish life has developed both locally and indeed globally, with the honour bestowed upon us as part guardians of our National Marian Shrine.
